Drops of liquid sunlight Found their way down from the canopy of thick green leaves And dispersed themselves among us He with the harmonica
Sat beautifully Making love out of music The specks of light found him brilliant And danced upon the silver of his instrument for a moment Before finally making their home in his eyes Those eyes that made magic, that knew love Across from him I sat Observing quietly this great phenomenon In which a pure soul first gave birth to infinities and impossible truths Across from him I sat Unheard and unknow
junebug skipping like a stone
with the headlights pointed at the dawn
we were sure we'd never see an end to it all
and i don't even care
to shake these zipper blues
and we don't know
just where our bones will rest
to dust i guess
forgotten and absorbed
into the earth below
